Retail Finance – Accounts Payable | Handforth | Full‑time | Permanent | Hybrid
Are you looking to grow your finance career in a busy, friendly, and fast‑paced retail environment? Our Retail Finance team is looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join us and help keep our suppliers paid on time while delivering brilliant service across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you’ll play a key role in managing the end‑to‑end AP process for your assigned vendors. Every day will be varied, and you’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to make sure invoices are processed accurately, issues are resolved quickly, and suppliers are paid to agreed terms.
You’ll also:
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Accurately process invoices and credit notes within agreed SLAs.
- Complete statement reconciliations and resolve any differences.
- Monitor parked invoices, making sure accounts stay up to date.
- Help identify recurring issues and support improvements in processes.
- Take part in projects, including automation initiatives and purchase ledger workshops.
This is a role where accuracy, pace, and great communication really matter — and where your contribution helps keep the whole retail operation running smoothly.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience in Accounts Payable, ideally in a high‑volume or fast‑paced environment.
- Good Excel skills (intermediate level).
- Experience with SAP ECC or similar finance systems (helpful but not essential).
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise your workload.
- Great teamwork skills and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
- Some understanding of retail or shared‑service environments (a bonus).
