Colleague Relations Advisor

Stafford Fulfilment Centre (SFC)

£28,000 per annum / 39 hours per week, Mon – Fri, flexibility to work occasional weekend / nights based on needs of the business.

 

At Pets At Home we are motivated to find the best talent in the Logistics & Distribution industry. Right now we are looking for a Colleague Relations Advisor to join our people team in our Fulfilment Centre in Stafford


The Role:
As a Colleague Relations Advisor, you will be part of a team that provides a professional, impartial and balanced Employee Relations (ER) advice and case management provision to the team in our Stafford Fulfilment Centre. The purpose of the team is to provide focussed Employee Relations support to the organisation and we are committed to delivering a high quality service that clearly demonstrates added value to the business.
This is an office-based role with ad-hoc travel to support meetings within the Northampton DC and ad hoc support across the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • You will be the first point of contact and you will have regular contact with Managers at all levels across warehouse and transport. You will build strong relationships with managers at all levels, coaching them on best practices, people policies and procedures, allowing managers to take ownership of the full management cycle.

 

  • You will be pragmatic and solutions focussed with a balanced and impartial approach. You will deliver all People activity in a consistent manner, ensuring advice and action taken reflects our values, best people practices, and compliance with employment law.

 

  • You will lead on colleague relations cases across warehouse and transport and escalate complex cases to the People Relations Lead, preventing and reducing risk to the business.

 

  • Proactively manage these cases to ensure that advice is provided in a timely manner and concluded appropriately. You will maintain accurate and current case logs through our internal systems.

 

  • You will attend complex hearings and meetings to offer advice & note take if required.

 

  • Input into HR reporting/management information as required.

 

  • You will attend weekly meetings with our managers to do an overview of current live cases.

 

  • You will draft and do the administration of any letters relating to IDGA (Investigation, Disciplinary, Grievances and Appeals) and send the relevant investigation and disciplinary packs to relevant managers. You will be responsible for filing and maintaining colleagues personnel folders for IDGA related documents.

 

  • Maintain awareness of the impact of employment legislation changes and ensure up to date legal compliance, regularly review and update policies and procedures in line with employment legislation change.

 

  • You will support the progress of ET’s, liaising with ACAS as required.

 

  • You will support the People Relations Lead to improve policies and procedures to promote a positive colleague experience and support the companies objectives.

 

  • Role model effective relationships across the wider Group People Team, People Services team, People Partners, and wider People team.

About You:

  • A Proven HR generalist experience gained in an HR Advisor role, or similar role
  • Strong customer focus
  • Highly organised
  • Excellent level of attention to detail 
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and stakeholder management
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and use own initiative
  • Ability to work to deadlines and on occasion under pressure
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency using Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel and HR systems
  • Flexible to work other hours when required with advance notice as part of the 24/7 fulfilment centre
