Here at Pets at Home, we’re rolling out a new Practice Management System across our veterinary business – and we need a Finance Project Operational Assistant to make it happen.

About the Role:

In this role, you’ll support the Finance Project Operational Lead to ensure a smooth migration, accurate financial data and robust processes that keep our practices focused on what matters most: pet wellbeing. You’ll play a key part in pre-migration preparation, cutover activities and hyper-care support, helping colleagues adapt confidently to new ways of working.

We can offer a 12-month fixed term contract to support the project, with hybrid working from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare and validate financial data for migration, safeguarding accuracy and compliance
  • Monitor transactions post-go-live, flag issues and support quick resolutions
  • Assist with process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide hands-on support and training to Finance and Practice teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Familiarity with financial processes like transaction monitoring and reconciliation
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with data
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Desirable:

  • Exposure to practice management systems (e.g., Provet) or payment providers (e.g., Worldpay)
  • AAT Level 3 or working towards a professional finance qualification
