Make a paw-sitive impact every day!

Join The Pets Foundation, the UK’s leading funder of animal rescue and rehoming charities, and help us create a better world for pets and the people who love them. Established by Pets at Home in 2006, we’re on a mission to create a better world for pets and the people who love them.

About the Role:

As Grant Operations Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in delivering our grant programmes—supporting grassroots and national charities that keep pets in loving homes and improve lives through pet companionship. From assessing applications and managing funding cycles to building relationships and promoting impact, your work will directly support thousands of pets and people across the UK.

The successful candidate will join on a 12-month fixed term contract as maternity cover. This role offers hybrid working from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage end-to-end grant processes with care and precision
  • Build strong relationships with charities and internal teams
  • Ensure funding aligns with our mission and values
  • Represent the Foundation at events and meetings
  • Help shape the future of pet welfare through strategic support

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Confidence with financial and impact evaluation
  • A collaborative spirit and a passion for animal welfare
  • Experience in grant-making or charity operations (desirable)
  • A clean UK driving licence

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

Why join us?

You’ll be part of a passionate, purpose-driven team where compassion, creativity and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do. Every day brings new opportunities to make a real difference—for pets, people and communities.
