We’re looking for an experienced Learning & Development Practitioner to join our People Team and help us deliver impactful, modern learning across our business — including Retail, Vets, and Support Office.

What you’ll be doing

As an L&D Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in designing, delivering, and embedding learning experiences that genuinely make a difference.

You will:

  • Conduct robust Learning Needs Analyses using data, insights, and stakeholder input
  • Design engaging blended learning solutions (workshops, eLearning, digital, toolkits, job aids, microlearning)
  • Deliver high‑quality face‑to‑face and virtual learning sessions for colleagues, managers, and leaders
  • Own and manage multiple L&D workstreams within your dedicated business area
  • Measure impact using clear success metrics and continuous improvement loops
  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with leaders, HRBPs, SMEs, and operational teams
  • Support capability building across leadership, performance management, induction and professional development pathways
  • Create simple, visually engaging learning resources using design tools
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver best‑in‑class learning

This role includes national travel and quarterly visits to our Handforth Support Office.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

Essential experience

  • Significant experience operating at L&D Practitioner level
  • Strong facilitation skills (minimum 2 years delivering behavioural‑based learning)
  • Proven ability to design blended learning solutions
  • Confidence using data, evaluation, and feedback to improve programmes
  • Experience delivering both virtual and face‑to‑face training
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement and learner impact

Desirable

  • CIPD/TAP or equivalent
  • A passion for education, coaching and developing others
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills
  • A strategic approach with an eye for quality and consistency

You’ll be great at

  • Learning needs analysis
  • Instructional design
  • Facilitation & training delivery
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Evaluation and impact measurement
  • Digital learning tools
  • Programme and project management
