Be the face of Pets at Home!

We're looking for an experienced Receptionist to join our Support Office in Handforth. As the first person visitors, colleagues and partners meet when they arrive, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming, professional and positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

This is far more than a traditional reception role. You'll be the hub of our busy Support Office, keeping things running smoothly, supporting workplace operations, coordinating meetings and events, and providing vital administrative support across the business. If you're highly organised, enjoy variety in your day, and thrive in a people-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing a warm, professional welcome to all visitors and guests.
  • Managing reception, visitor sign-ins and site access processes.
  • Handling incoming calls, emails and enquiries, ensuring they reach the right people quickly.
  • Coordinating mail, deliveries and workplace services across the office.
  • Managing meeting rooms, conference facilities and office bookings.
  • Supporting the organisation of meetings, events and on-site activities.
  • Assisting with new starter onboarding and workplace set-up.
  • Maintaining accurate records, reports and business documentation.
  • Supporting compliance activities, including contractor documentation and PAT testing coordination.
  • Providing administrative support to the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) & Compliance Team.
  • Taking ownership of a range of day-to-day administrative tasks that help our Support Office run efficiently.

About You

We're looking for someone who has experience working in a busy reception, front-of-house or office administration role and genuinely enjoys being at the heart of a workplace.

You'll bring:

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or front-facing administrative role.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Confidence communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and finding solutions.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to remain calm, professional and adaptable in a busy environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues across the business.

If you enjoy building positive relationships, keeping things organised, and being the person everyone can rely on, this could be the perfect role for you.

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you
