Senior Benefits Specialist

Reward Team | Handforth (Hybrid – approx. 2 days per week onsite)

About the role

At Pets, we’re passionate about creating a better world for pets and the people who love them—and our benefits offering plays a huge part in that.

We’re looking for a Senior Benefits Specialist to shape and evolve a compelling, competitive and inclusive benefits proposition across the Group.

This is a brilliant opportunity to combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, using insight and data to influence decisions that truly impact our colleagues across retail, veterinary, distribution and support office teams.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and external partners, helping to ensure our benefits remain relevant, valued and aligned to what matters most to our people.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and continuously improving our benefits strategy to ensure it’s competitive, sustainable and aligned to colleague needs
  • Leading end-to-end reward projects, from concept through to delivery and review
  • Using data and market insight to shape decisions, build business cases and influence stakeholders
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to People Teams and senior leaders on benefits and reward matters
  • Creating clear, engaging communications that bring our benefits offering to life
  • Supporting broader reward activity, including pay and bonus cycles and senior hiring
  • Managing relationships with benefit providers, ensuring high-quality, compliant and cost-effective delivery

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in reward and benefits within a multi-site or customer-focused organisation
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver complex initiatives
  • Confident using data and insight to influence decisions and tell a clear story
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving continuous improvement

Nice to have:

  • CIPD, WorldatWork, CIPP or similar qualification
  • Experience in compensation or pay review processes
  • Background in retail, veterinary or similar sectors

Why join Pets?

You’ll be part of a purpose-driven business where people genuinely care—about pets, about each other and about doing the right thing.

We offer a supportive, collaborative environment where you can make a real impact, alongside a competitive reward package and benefits that reflect what matters most to our colleagues.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect differences in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves, so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you.
