Stafford Fulfilment Centre

£26,900 + night shift allowance, 12hr shifts rotating days and nights, 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Right now, we are looking for a Technical Assistant to join our Engineering Team at our Fulfilment Centre in Stafford.

The Role
Our state-of-the-art Fulfilment Centre includes a high degree of automation, including an automated storage and retrieval system and associated conveyance, designed to streamline and improve the existing e-commerce side of the business.

We are looking to recruit technical assistants to support and compliment the engineering team.

Previous experience in an automated environment is beneficial but not essential as full training will be given.

The technical assistant will be responsible for both a reactive and pro-active support on all automated equipment within the FC. The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operation. If equipment is not available or performs badly, it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to tote jams on the conveyor system.
  • Re-setting of emergency stops.
  • Use of computerised systems to complete jam reports and to complete maintenance logs.
  • Always Work safely and highlight all H&S issues to your line management.
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from operational issues and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
  • Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Responsible for cleaning of automation equipment and to help maintain hygiene standards.
  • Assist to resolve issues without tools but through manual procedures.
  • Other activities deemed appropriate within the automation environment.

What you will bring

  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Good level of communication.
  • Understanding of safe systems of work.
  • Experience with tote and conveyor systems
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Experience with MHE (Material Handling Equipment)/Automation systems and their technical components.
  • Have good people skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a range of people.
