At Colchester Vets for Pets Referral Hospital, we are a growing, multidisciplinary team of 25 passionate veterinary professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our patients. With a focus on collaboration, respect, and continuous learning, we’re looking for a skilled surgeon to join our dynamic team.

• Competitive Salary: £80,000–£125,000+ per annum (based on experience and skills). We also offer part-time options to suit your work-life balance.
• State-of-the-Art Facilities: As part of our newly built referral hospital, you'll have access to top-tier equipment, including an Intensive Care Unit, CT scanner, advanced ultrasound, endoscopy, arthroscopy, slit lamps, operating microscope, and phacoemulsification system.
• Challenging, Stimulating Cases: You’ll handle a diverse range of second-opinion and referral cases, with ample exposure to advanced and emergency surgery, keeping your work both challenging and rewarding.
• Tailored Investment in Your Skills: We understand that as an advanced surgeon, you may have specific equipment and CPD budget needs to fully utilize and grow your expertise. We're happy to discuss additional capital and training investment to ensure you have everything you need to deliver outstanding patient care.
• Supportive, Collaborative Team: You’ll join a diverse and stable team of 50 talented vets and nurses with particular interests in surgery, ophthalmology, cardiology, imaging, medicine, exotics, ECC, and more. It’s a true multidisciplinary environment where we work together to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.
• Mentoring Opportunities: If it appeals to you, you’ll have the chance to guide and inspire the next generation of surgeons, sharing your expertise with recent graduates and less experienced team members.
• Continuous High-Level Care: Working alongside 2 other senior advanced surgeons, you’ll help provide continuous care for our growing referral caseload, covering 7 days a week with a manageable rota (working one weekend every 4 weeks, no on call).
• 24-Hour In-House Care: Our dedicated night team ensures that we can provide 24-hour hospitalization for our inpatients, so you can rest assured your patients are well cared for around the clock.
• Work-Life Balance: We offer flexible rotas, tailored to fit your lifestyle, family commitments, and personal passions outside of work.
• Ideal Location: Based in North Essex, we’re perfectly situated for easy access to London (just a 47-minute train ride from Liverpool Street Station), as well as Stansted, Southend, and Luton airports.
