Veterinary Surgeon – Brand New Practice – Glossop
Up to £75,000 DOE | No OOH | Peak District Lifestyle | Be There From Day One
Ever wanted to help build a practice from scratch?
Ever imagined finishing work and heading straight into the Peak District?
Now’s your chance.
We’re launching a brand-new, purpose-built Vets for Pets practice in Glossop (opening March 2026) and we’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to help shape it from the very beginning.
This isn’t just another job.
It’s a rare opportunity to influence culture, shape clinical standards, build a team, and create something you’ll genuinely feel proud of.
The Opportunity
From day one, you’ll play a key role in:
- Helping design how the practice runs
- Setting clinical standards
- Building relationships within the local community
- Establishing a positive, supportive team culture
- Bringing your ideas to life
You’ll have real input. Real autonomy. Real influence.
And no out-of-hours.
The Practice
Opening March 2026, our modern, thoughtfully designed practice will sit within a contemporary Pets at Home store on Wren Nest Retail Park.
Expect:
- Light, spacious, air-conditioned environment
- State-of-the-art equipment
- Purpose-built clinical areas
- A layout designed for both efficiency and wellbeing
You’ll be supported by two highly experienced Practice Owners:
Ibrahim – An experienced Veterinary Surgeon (qualified 2001)
Leanne – 25+ years’ nursing experience across various practices in the area
Between them, they bring decades of clinical expertise and strong, supportive leadership. Their goal? To create a practice where standards are high, ideas are welcomed, and colleagues genuinely enjoy coming to work.
The Role
- Full-time or part-time considered
- Saturday day working included
- No out-of-hours
- Genuine work–life balance
You’ll enjoy clinical autonomy, the time to work cases up properly, and the freedom to develop your own interests.
We’re always happy to have an informal chat if you’d like to explore what this could look like for you.

Ideally, you’ll be:
- RCVS-registered
- Experienced in small animal practice
- Confident with routine medical and surgical cases
- Comfortable with sole charge when needed
- A strong communicator and team player
- Keen to grow clinically (certificate support encouraged!)
What You’ll Get
- Salary up to £75,000 DOE
- Generous CPD allowance
- Full certificate support
- 5.6 weeks’ holiday (increasing with service)

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
