Charlton Vets for Pets have an exciting opportunity for a part time cleaner to join our practice.

This position is part time working 2 hours per day, 5 days per week Monday to Friday. 

Main purpose of job 

Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the surgery. Being aware of the business needs of the practice and ensuring Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times.

Deliver a professional service and good working relations with all colleagues and clients, contributing to maximising turnover and growing the profitability of the business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Show due diligence and high standards in all aspects of cleaning
  • Work in a spirit of co-operation and mutual support with others
  • Ensure that the systems that deliver high standards of cleaning at the practice are adhered to - this includes the use of appropriate disinfectants, maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Dispose of any clinical and domestic waste in the bins provided
  • Bring any deficiencies to the attention of the JVP or the Practice Manager and co-operate in the resolution of such deficiencies
  • Being aware of the business needs of the practice
  • Ensure that you present a professional image regarding appearance and behaviour when in contact with members of the public
  • Adhere to all statutory policies (Health & Safety and Employment Law)

Tasks include

  • Hoover/sweep and mop the floors around the reception desk, client waiting areas, and corridors
  • Disinfect and clean the client chairs and pet weighing scales
  • Clean stains/marks off all the walls, skirting, doors and sides of the reception desk
  • Clean clinical areas including consultation rooms and prep area
  • Clean colleague areas including Kitchen
