🐾 Registered Veterinary Nurse – Hertford Vets for Pets

Salary up to £30,000 DOE | £1,000 Welcome Bonus | Flexible Working | No Sundays | Excellent Work-Life Balance

Are you a Veterinary Nurse who loves variety, enjoys a friendly, close-knit team, and is looking for a role that values your skills, wellbeing, and career growth?

If that sounds like you — you might be the perfect fit for Hertford Vets for Pets!

We’re a small, supportive practice where everyone’s contribution matters. Our nurses are involved in all areas of the practice — from anaesthesia and inpatient care to nurse clinics, lab work and theatre — and we pride ourselves on creating an environment where you can really make the role your own.

About Us

We’re a small but mighty team based in the beautiful town of Hertford. Our current line-up includes 2 Vets, 1 RVN, 2 VCAs and a wonderful Receptionist, all working together in a warm, supportive environment.

Our purpose-built clinic features separate cat and dog wards, an isolation unit, and a dedicated sterile theatre. We’re also well equipped with ultrasound, digital X-ray, in-house laboratory, microscope, capnography with pulse oximetry, and more.

We have a loyal client base, many of whom have insured pets, allowing us to work up cases thoroughly. Appointments are 30 minutes for non-routine cases and 15 minutes for vaccines, giving our team the time to provide the very best service. We also collaborate with visiting specialists who carry out procedures such as cardiac scans, abdominal ultrasounds, and orthopaedic surgeries, ensuring you’ll always have the opportunity to learn and grow.

Our Head Nurse shared their experience:

“The team at Hertford Vets for Pets is lovely and the pace is just right. I learned so much during my time here and really enjoyed the balance between consults, anaesthesia and leadership duties.”

About You

You’ll be a qualified and confident RVN who enjoys working collaboratively within a small, friendly team. You’ll have solid clinical and organisational skills, take pride in delivering gold-standard patient care, and be keen to support both the clinical and business side of the practice.

Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
