Start your nursing career in a practice that will support you properly
We are looking for a newly qualified or early-career RVN to join our nursing team in a modern, developing first opinion practice.
This is a role where you will be supported to build confidence, develop your clinical skills properly, and become part of a team that values high standards and continuous improvement.
Why join us?
Starting your career as an RVN can feel overwhelming. We aim to create an environment where you are supported, encouraged to ask questions, and given opportunities to develop without being thrown in unsupported.
You will work alongside experienced vets, RVNs and support staff who enjoy teaching and developing nurses.
What makes this role different
Our nurses are actively involved in patient management and clinical decision making.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills in:
- Nurse consultations and triage
- Anaesthesia and theatre nursing
- Multiparameter monitoring (ECG, capnography, blood pressure)
- Inpatient care and recovery
- Schedule 3 procedures
- Dental radiography and full dental workflows
- Multimodal analgesia and local anaesthetic techniques
We are also continuing to develop:
- Point of care ultrasound within the nursing team
- AI supported tools including HT Vista
- AI assisted clinical note taking
This is a practice where nurses are encouraged to use and develop their skills properly.
The practice
- Recently extended, modern site
- 5 consult rooms and 2 theatres
- Dedicated recovery area
- Study area and large staff room
- Visiting cardiology and imaging support
- Strong clinical team including CertAVP
- Caseload including advanced soft tissue and orthopaedics
The team
- Supportive and approachable nursing team
- Experienced clinical leadership
- Active student nurse involvement
- Regular nurse meetings and clinical discussions
- Positive culture focused on development and teamwork
Work-life balance
- 40 hours per week (including a paid 30 minute lunch break)
- No out of hours
- No Sundays
- No overnight inpatient checks
- Overtime is recognised and paid or taken as time off in lieu
Development
- CPD fully supported
- Certificates actively encouraged
- £750 CPD allowance with paid CPD time
- Strong culture of mentoring and clinical discussion
We want nurses to continue progressing, not plateau after qualification.
Who this role suits
- A newly qualified or early-career RVN
- Someone motivated to learn and develop clinically
- A team player with good communication skills
- Someone organised, positive, and willing to take ownership of their development
You do not need to know everything already. What matters most is attitude, willingness to learn, and wanting to provide high standards of patient care.
Salary and package
- £27,000–£30,000 depending on experience and capability
- Paid memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS)
- Pension
- Staff discount
- 5.6 weeks holiday rising with service
- Reward hub with discounts, cashback, and cycle-to-work scheme
Why this role stands out
This is more than a standard newly qualified RVN role.
You will join a practice that is continuing to invest in its facilities, clinical standards, and nursing team, with support in place to help you build confidence and progress.
