An exciting opportunity has arisen at our small animal practice in Sheffield Birley Moor Vets for Pets for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and welcoming team.
About Us
Birley Moor Vets for Pets is a friendly, family run practice on the edge of Sheffield. We pride ourselves on making all our clients and their fur babies feel as welcome as possible. The practice is on the outskirts of the vibrant, cultural centre of Sheffield as well as being within easy reach of beautiful countryside of the Peak District National Park. There are also easy transport links to the rest of the UK and beyond, given our central location - via road, rail, plane and even using our extensive tram network. You can be in London in under two hours by train!
Over the last 14 years, we have worked hard to build up a loyal client base, and are looking for a positive, enthusiastic Nurse to work alongside our close and friendly team. We are a first opinion, RCVS accredited practice, with 5 vets, 5 RVNs and supporting SVNs, 5 Receptionist’s, Practice Manager and Insurance administrator. We offer an appointment only service for both vets and nurses, with 15–30-minute appointments, allowing plenty of time for the more complicated cases.
Our bright, spacious surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including a dedicated operating theatre, separate cat and dog wards, Idexx in-house laboratory kit including Sedivue urine analyser, Doppler ultrasound, digital x-ray and dentistry facilities.
About the Role
By joining us you will have the opportunity to use your nursing skills to their full potential, admitting patients, monitoring anaesthetics, recovering, and discharging patients. Assistance from SVNs with turning around theatre, patient prep.
To apply you will have good general nursing experience and great customer service skills, be cheerful, down-to-earth and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in animal welfare.
This is a part-time position requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility around working hours to be discussed at interview.
