Description:

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Heanor Vets for Pets.

About the Role:

Here at Heanor Vets for Pets, we are a general practice with a great and varied client base, and a team that genuinely cares about colleagues, clients and pets. We advocate for gentle handling, low-stress approaches and an ethos that supports both pets and the people who care for them. We are now looking for an RVN who shares this mindset and wants to help us continue developing a calm, supportive clinical environment.

Having been open for 6 years, our caseload is well established and we have built strong, trusting relationships with our clients. We are looking to grow our offering with the development of more nurse-led clinics and schedule 3 procedures and would love someone who is excited to expand into this area with us.

Our nurses are valued as veterinary professionals and we ensure they are able to fulfil their clinical potential. Continuing your learning is just as important to us as it is to you, and we offer a great CPD allowance to support your development.

You will be joining a hard-working, inclusive team lead by a RVN JVP who are passionate about being at the heart of the local community. Our practice provides excellent facilities, giving you access to the equipment and space you need to care for your patients.

The role includes 1 in 2 Saturdays (9am–12pm), with no Sundays or OOHs. This is a full-time role working 4 days per week, with one day off each week, although we are open to more flexible timetables.  We ensure your diary is well managed allowing for breaks and admin time.

About You:

We are looking for an RVN with excellent customer service and communication skills, and solid experience across general practice nursing. You will have experience in surgery, x-rays, basic schedule 3  tasks and consults. Most importantly, you will have a genuine interest in animal welfare and enjoy working in a practice that prioritises low-stress handling, emotional wellbeing and supportive teamwork.

Benefits:

In addition to a competitive salary of £30,000+ DOE (FTE), we offer all the benefits you would expect from a major employer (pension, paid memberships etc.) plus a few more, such as excellent CPD opportunities and exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (including up to 20% off at Pets at Home).

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare, exceptional client care and fear free aware veterinary practice, we would love to hear from you.
