Registered Veterinary Nurse
Handforth, KEN, SK9 3RN
Maidstone Vets for Pets is a standalone practice that provides the environment, caseload, and equipment needed to fully utilise your existing skills, while also offering excellent opportunities for further development.
You’ll be joining a talented and friendly clinical team, alongside a highly supportive non-clinical team. We place great importance on growing, developing, and retaining talent, reflected in the number of colleagues who have been with us for 13–20 years, as well as our CCA team working towards BVRA accreditation.
In this role, you’ll be able to use your nursing skills to their full potential, including admitting patients, monitoring anaesthetics, carrying out Schedule 3 procedures, and supporting patient recovery and discharge. You’ll also have support from VCAs and an SVN with theatre turnaround and patient preparation.
The practice sees a wide variety of cases, covering all routine surgery as well as soft tissue procedures and some basic orthopaedics. We are well-equipped with modern facilities, including digital X-ray and ultrasound, and we are always open to investing in additional specialist equipment where it will benefit both the team and the practice.
This is a part-time role working 24 hours per week, with a 1 in 4 weekend rota.
In return, we can offer you:
- Competitive salary of up to £30,000 pro rata, depending on experience
- No out-of-hours (OOH) work or overnight inpatient checks
- Generous CPD allowance, including funded certificates
- Regular social events with a strong focus on wellbeing
- Contributory pension scheme
- Paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS)
- Access to exclusive company and high street discounts and rewards
If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service, then we would love to hear from you!
Yunus, Veterinary Surgeon, Maidstone Vets for Pets:
"After my interviews, I didn’t wait to talk to other practices and wanted to work here. My initial impression was that they genuinely cared for the patients and worked continuously to improve the practice. I am content with my decision to be a part of this team and have been here for 1.5 years now. This practice has its own identity, and it’s kept so – which consists of compassion, hard work and an understanding of colleagues’ mental wellbeing while supporting their professional interests. Of course, every workplace has limitations and being in the veterinary profession is not always the easiest. But I can fairly say that someone will always have your back and support you if you are open to it, especially if you love animals like we do."
Benefits:
In return, we offer such benefits as 20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home and the Groom Room, access to discounts and cashbacks, in-house career development opportunities, pension and holiday allowance.
