Description:

Looking for a supportive practice where nurses are truly valued and encouraged to thrive?

We’re excited to welcome a Registered Veterinary Nurse to our friendly, established team at Watford Vets4Pets.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, welcoming practice with a strong team culture, great facilities and genuine scope to develop your nursing career.

Why join Watford Vets4Pets?

We’re a busy small animal practice with a loyal client base and a positive, collaborative working environment. While we benefit from the backing of a larger organisation, we pride ourselves on maintaining a local, close knit feel where everyone supports one another.

Our practice is based in Century Retail Park, inside the Pets at Home store, offering:

  • A modern, well equipped practice environment
  • Free on site parking
  • Easy commute - just 30 minutes by train from Central London

You’ll be working alongside our two permanent vets, Alex and Kat, supported by:

  • 1 Practice Manager
  • 1 Part time Head Nurse
  • 2 Veterinary Care Assistants
  • 2 Receptionists

Nurses are central to everything we do, and your voice and skills will always be valued.

About the role

This is a hands on nursing role where you’ll be encouraged to work at the top of your licence. Your duties will include:

  • Admitting and discharging patients
  • Monitoring anaesthetics and managing recoveries
  • Delivering high quality inpatient care
  • Supporting clients with clear, compassionate communication

Our VCAs assist with patient preparation and theatre turnaround, allowing you to focus on what you do best — nursing.

There is also the opportunity to run nurse clinics and develop areas of clinical interest that align with your goals.

About you

We’re looking for an RVN who:

  • Has solid general nursing experience
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team
  • Is confident, organised and approachable
  • Is passionate about patient welfare and client care

Ideally, you’ll have 2–3 years’ experience or more, but we’re open to nurses who feel ready to take the next step in a supportive environment.

Hours & rewards

  • Full time position: 40 hours per week
  • No OOH or overnight inpatient checks
  • Salary up to £32,000 FTE, dependent on experience

Benefits

When you join our team, you’ll enjoy:

  • A generous CPD allowance, including funded certificates
  • Paid RCVS, BVNA and VDS memberships
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Regular team social events and a strong focus on wellbeing
  • Exclusive company and high street discounts

If you’re looking for a practice where you’ll feel supported, appreciated and encouraged to grow, we’d love to hear from you.
