Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

Small Animal Practice | Farnham Vets for Pets
Full-Time | 40 hours per week | 1 in 4 weekends
Part time will also be considered.

At Farnham Vets for Pets, we’ve recently taken ownership of the practice and have exciting plans for introducing new services. We’re now looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior RVN to join us and play a key role in shaping the future of our practice. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and motivated nurse to work within a friendly, close-knit, and forward-thinking team. Adding another experienced RVN into our team will ensure our nursing team is in a fantastic position to allow the practice to thrive as we grow and implement new surgical and rehabilitation services. 

Our Practice Owners

Our owners bring a wealth of experience and are deeply committed to clinical excellence and team development:

  • Kirsty – 15 years qualified, holds a surgical certificate, with a background in hospital practice. Special interests include regenerative medicine and chronic pain management
  • James – 14 years’ experience, specialising in physiotherapy and arthritis management. He leads business development and is driving the introduction of gold-standard rehabilitation services. Passionate about career progression and creating a positive, progressive workplace

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious RVN to take the next step with some leadership responsibilities.

We are looking for an individual who will lead by example and in conjunction with our Head Nurse, supporting the nursing and VCA team while helping to drive improvements in clinical standards and day-to-day practice efficiency.

This is a hands-on role, with duties fully centred around RVN responsibilities. 

You will:

  • Lead, support, and inspire the nursing and VCA team on a daily basis
  • Act as a role model across all aspects of clinical nursing
  • Help streamline workflows and improve practice efficiency
  • Champion and develop nurse-led consults, e.g OA, Weight loss clinics
  • Support the training, mentoring, and development of RVNs and VCAs
  • Participate in appraisals, clinical audits, and team initiatives
  • Encourage individual clinical interests and professional growth

About You

This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, enjoys motivating others, building team confidence, and shaping a strong, cohesive nursing team.

  • Has strong experience within small animal practice (Referral experience advantageous but not essential)
  • Is confident supporting and leading a team by example.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and client care skills
  • Is passionate about animal welfare and high clinical standards
  • Enjoys mentoring others and leading by example
  • Is organised, proactive, and comfortable driving positive change in. Friendly approachable way.
