Cheryl and Nick are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Student Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly and growing team at Chadwell Heath Vets for Pets.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a supportive, collaborative practice, where you’ll be encouraged to build your confidence, expand your clinical skills and learn from an experienced and passionate team.

About the Practice

You’ll be joining an enthusiastic team made up of 2 Vets, 2 RVNs, 1 Student Nurse and 1 Veterinary Care Assistant, all committed to delivering excellent patient and client care.

Cheryl has a keen interest in all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular passion for surgery, and has recently completed her surgical certificate. Within the wider team there are also interests in rabbit medicine, geriatric care and dentistry, creating a great environment for learning and professional development.

The practice is well equipped with modern facilities including:

  • Ultrasound
  • Digital X-ray
  • Full in-house laboratory

Located in Chadwell Heath, the practice benefits from excellent transport links into Central London and easy access to the M25, making commuting simple whether you’re travelling locally or from further afield.

About the Role

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with a fair 1 in 3 weekend rota and no out-of-hours commitments.

As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will gain hands-on experience across all areas of the practice, supporting the clinical team with:

  • Patient care and nursing duties
  • Assisting with consultations and surgeries
  • Inpatient care and monitoring
  • Supporting the client journey and building strong relationships with pet owners

You will be fully supported throughout your training, with guidance from experienced colleagues to help you develop the skills and confidence needed to progress in your veterinary nursing career.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience and training stage)
  • Enhanced annual leave
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Support and mentoring throughout your training
  • No out-of-hours
  • 1 in 3 weekend rota
  • Supportive and friendly working environment
  • Exclusive colleague discounts, including High Street retailers and restaurants

About You

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, caring and eager to learn. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team and be passionate about providing the best possible care to patients and clients.

You will ideally be enrolled in, or planning to enrol in, a recognised Veterinary Nursing training programme and be keen to build a long-term career in veterinary nursing.

If you’re looking for a role where you can learn, develop and grow within a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.
