Veterinary Care Assistant

We’re looking for a caring and enthusiastic Veterinary Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Farnborough Vets for Pets.

You’ll play an important role in supporting our vets and nurses, helping to care for our patients and keeping the practice running smoothly. It’s a varied role that’s perfect for someone who loves animals, enjoys being part of a busy team and isn’t afraid to get stuck in.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting our vets and nurses with the day-to-day care of patients
• Helping keep pets comfortable during their time with us
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the practice
• Cleaning and preparing equipment and clinical areas
• Providing a warm and compassionate experience for clients and their pets
• Supporting the wider team to help the practice run smoothly

About you

• You’ll be caring, reliable and passionate about animal welfare, with a positive attitude and great communication skills.
• You’ll enjoy working as part of a team, be comfortable in a busy environment and understand that veterinary practice can sometimes be emotional as well as incredibly rewarding.
• Previous animal care or veterinary experience would be beneficial, but above all, we’re looking for someone with enthusiasm, compassion and a genuine love of pets.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, including 1 in 3 weekends with a salary in line with national minimum wage 

Weekday shifts:

• 8:30am – 4:45pm
• 11:00am – 7:15pm

Weekend shifts:

• Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
• Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
