Veterinary Surgeon – clinical freedom in forward thinking practice.
Practice your best medicine.
If you're looking for a practice where clinical freedom, teamwork and genuinely high standards of patient care come first, we'd love to hear from you.
At Vets for Pets Emersons Green, we're proud to be an independent-minded, locally owned practice where our priority is simple: do what's right for every pet and every client. No clinical targets, no unnecessary pressure—just the support to be the vet you trained to be.
About us
Owned by Carla and Ollie, Emersons Green Vets for Pets has become a well-established part of the local community. Many of our team have been with us for over 8 years, creating a supportive, friendly environment with an exceptionally loyal client base.
Our clients trust us, and with a high proportion of insured pets, we're able to investigate and manage cases thoroughly while maintaining an affordable, approachable service.
Our team
You'll be joining a fantastic team of 24 colleagues, including:
- 7 Veterinary Surgeons
- 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses
- Practice Manager
- Reception Manager
- 5 Client Care Advisors
- Cleaner
Our experienced vet team includes a certificate holder in Small Animal Surgery, a vet with a particular interest in ophthalmology both with over 12 years' experience, and Carla and Sophie, who have over 25 years' experience and both enjoy internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, laparoscopy and endoscopy.
We work many medical and surgical cases in-house, supported by visiting orthopaedic surgeons and a monthly HeartVets cardiology clinic, giving you the opportunity to develop your own interests while working alongside experienced colleagues.
How we work
Our culture is built on trust, support and continuous learning.
We encourage discussion, share ideas openly and hold regular vet meetings, case discussions and morbidity and mortality (M&M) meetings within a genuine no-blame culture. We believe learning comes from collaboration, not criticism.
You'll enjoy true clinical freedom and autonomy, with plenty of support whenever you need it.
Our rota offers a varied mix of consulting, operating and inpatient care, although we're equally happy to accommodate a vet who prefers a consult-only role.
