Our surgery was purpose built in 2008 and has been owned and run by our Clinical Director Robert White-Adams ever since. It has been continuously improved over the years, with the recent addition of a dedicated quiet room for you to research cases, make phone calls, or just sit down for lunch. We also invest regularly in new and upgraded equipment, enabling us to undertake both medical and surgical cases in-house to an advanced level. For the successful applicant, this position will provide both breadth and depth of case exposure, working in a supportive environment.
Your colleagues here will consist of highly capable and very approachable vets, an ample nursing team, a full reception team, insurance administrator, and a dedicated practice manager. We have carefully avoided desperately filling vacancies by any means over the years, and instead carefully cultivated a team who work well together, share mutual respect, and genuinely enjoy each other’s company! We have a proven track record of developing confident, competent new grads, so whatever stage of your career or areas of development, we’ve got you covered.
In additional to effective clinical and pastoral support, your benefits package will include a competitive salary - based on your ability and regularly reviewed, payment of your professional fees, a flexible CPD budget to help you and the practice grow together, and a great range of discounts and rewards you’d expect from working in a practice associated with the Pets at Home Vet Group. We also believe a sensible work:life balance is critical to a successful working relationship, which is why we are open to applications for full or part time hours. Our shifts are 9am-7pm, and everyone works 1-in-3 weekends but there are no out of hours, and your rota will be fixed, predictable, and designed in partnership with you.
The successful candidate for this position will be a veterinary surgeon with a positive approach to their career, who is looking for a sustainable position in which they can thrive, and who will recognise the personal and professional benefits of being part of an inclusive team.
Whether you’re looking for a practice that will appreciate your years of experience, or maybe for a second chance at a great start to your career, I’d love to hear from you. Knowing what a small world it is, I can offer you the utmost confidence; if you’d like to make an informal enquiry you can drop me an email to kim.whiteadams@companioncare.co.uk
Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
