Registered Veterinary Nurse
Linlithgow, WLN, EH49 7AS
Join Our Brand-New Team from Day One!
Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse ready for an exciting next step in your career? This is your opportunity to be part of something special from the very beginning.
We’re opening a new, purpose-built, locally owned Vets for Pets practice in Linlithgow and are looking for an RVN to join us on this exciting journey. Designed with both clinical excellence and colleague wellbeing in mind, our practice offers a fresh, modern environment where you can truly thrive.
Our Practice Owner is a proud local who grew up in Linlithgow and has been an active member of the community for many years. Their vision is to create a welcoming, “village feel” practice that delivers exceptional care to the pets and people of the town they call home.
We’re committed to high clinical standards and outstanding customer service. Collaboration is central to our culture—we support one another, learn together, and maintain a strong “no blame” ethos, ensuring everyone feels confident, valued, and empowered.
You’ll work in a bright, spacious, air-conditioned clinic equipped with modern technology, including:
- Digital and dental X-ray
- Ultrasound
- Multi-parameter monitoring
- Full in-house laboratory (haematology, biochemistry, urinalysis, microscope)
- Separate cat and dog wards
- Dedicated theatre
- Well-organised prep area
- Isolation room
- Comfortable, modern consult rooms
- Separate staff room
Every detail of the practice has been carefully designed to support excellent patient care, efficient workflows, and a positive experience for both clients and their pets.
This role offers a varied caseload, high-quality equipment, and the support you need to build on your existing skills while continuing to develop professionally. We actively encourage CPD and further qualifications, helping you progress your career.
About you and the role
We’re looking for a proactive, enthusiastic team player to join our friendly first-opinion practice. You’ll be a confident and motivated RVN with some experience, ready to take the next step.
Experience with Schedule 3 procedures, radiography, and nurse consultations is important, as we encourage everyone to work to their strengths. An interest in, or experience as, a Clinical Coach would be an advantage but isn’t essential.
From day one, you’ll have the chance to contribute ideas, help shape the practice, and make a real impact on its development.
We offer both full-time and part-time opportunities, with flexible working patterns to support a healthy work–life balance. Some Saturday work will be required, but there are no out-of-hours commitments.
What we offer
- Salary up to £34,000 (dependent on experience, full-time equivalent)
- Generous CPD allowance
- 6.6 weeks’ annual leave
- Birthday off
- Contributory pension scheme
- In-house career development opportunities
- Paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
- Access to reward hub, wellbeing support, and pastoral care
- Cycle to work scheme
- 20% discount at Vets for Pets, Pets at Home, and the Groom Room
- Access to colleague assistance programmes (Retail Trust, Port of Call, MHFA)
