Join Our Brand-New Team from Day One!

Are you a Veterinary Receptionist ready to take the next exciting step in your career?

This is your chance to be part of something special from the very beginning.

We are opening a brand-new, purpose-built, locally owned Vets for Pets surgery in Linlithgow and are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to join us on this exciting journey.

Our modern practice has been carefully designed to support both clinical excellence and colleague wellbeing from day one.

Our Practice Owner is a proud local who grew up in Linlithgow and has been an active member of the community for many years. Their vision is to create a true “village feel” veterinary practice—delivering exceptional care to the community they call home.

We are committed to building a practice that delivers high clinical standards alongside outstanding customer service. Collaboration sits at the heart of our culture, and we are passionate about creating a supportive team environment where colleagues learn, grow, and succeed together. A strong “no-blame” culture underpins everything we do, ensuring everyone feels confident, valued, and empowered.

You’ll be working in a bright, spacious, air-conditioned environment equipped with the latest technology you would expect from a modern, high-quality Vets for Pets clinic.

What your typical day will look like:

  • Delivering outstanding service to clients while ensuring exceptional care for their pets, acting as a key link between clients and the clinical team
  • Building strong, positive relationships with clients, their pets, and your colleagues
  • Ensuring every client visit is a positive experience so they leave feeling supported, informed, and confident to return
  • Greeting clients warmly and providing clear, accurate information, guidance, and support
  • Managing payments and confidently booking future appointments
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice using our online booking system (strong IT skills are essential)

As a newly established practice, we offer both full-time and part-time opportunities. We are committed to promoting a healthy work–life balance and are happy to discuss flexible shift patterns to suit individual needs. Some Saturday working will be required. Salary up to £28,000.

What we’re looking for:

  • A friendly, welcoming manner—you will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide accurate, up-to-date information about practice services
  • A calm, attentive approach with a strong focus on client care
  • Enthusiasm, drive, and a genuine passion for customer service and animal welfare
  • Emotional resilience to support clients during difficult moments, as well as share in joyful milestones such as a puppy’s first visit
  • A positive, engaging personality that helps create a warm and welcoming atmosphere

Benefits:
In return, we offer a range of benefits including a 20% discount at The Vet Group, Pets at Home, and The Groom Room, access to discounts and cashback schemes, in-house career development opportunities, a pension scheme, and holiday allowance.

Location: EH49 7AS

We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
