This role will be part time. We would be looking at an average of 22 hours a week working 2-3 days a week. Our rota is arranged for the year ahead and is available to view on RotaCloud. This can be viewed online or via an App. There will be the opportunity to pick up additional shifts covering other colleagues leave.
We are passionate about ensuring our nurses can utilise all the skills they bring to our team in whatever area is important to them. Our current team of five RVNs, run their own consults, monitor anaesthesia, and engage in dentistry, radiology, ultrasonography and lab work. They also have the opportunity to engage in schedule 3 procedures. We are an RCVS accredited practice, a Training Practice, have Fear Free status as well as being an ISFM cat friendly practice.
We very much encourage further development of our team. We will provide in house training and mentorship. We fund and encourage our RVNs to do further qualifications such as a nursing certificates, diplomas and post graduate courses and we are open to any CPD or further qualification requests.
We have invested in Team Diversity & Inclusion CPD for the whole team which was run by MindOut - LGBTQ Mental Health Service as this was identified as a topic that was important to our team members, and we hope to make our practice as inclusive as possible to clients and colleagues who are part of the LGBTQ+ family. We have an open-door policy and a mental health first aider within the practice. We are an Autism Friendly practice helping us to support our clients and colleagues.
The rest of our team is made up of five vets including Fiona and Chris Coutts our JVPs, one VCA and four experienced client care advisors. Owing to the interests of our team we can keep a large proportion of our varied caseload in-house providing opportunities to build experience in whatever area you would like.
You will find our practice in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF2 9SD. Proximity to Leeds, the M1 and M62 allows for excellent transport links for travel by road, rail and to airports. We’re a short walk away from Westgate and Kirkgate Station and have free onsite parking.
